HELLO DAGSO Members!

The Decorative Art Guild of Southwestern Ohio was founded by Louise Jackson in 1976.  DAGSO so named in 1981 has always been a club of men and women who enjoyed challenges. Continuing Education classes have been taught from basic drawing to experimental abstracts on yupo paper.

On July 28th. a group of members and non-members met at Wartinger Park in Beavercreek Ohio; to sketch, paint and take pictures of the colorful array of flowers displayed around the log cabins reassembled in the park.

The camera simply reported the colors of the variety of beautiful flowers that we found there, but the pencil and watercolor sketches allowed is to respond to the ever changing  atmosphere around us. The sounds, smells and climate conditions become part of the ambiance of being there. We captured the mood of the moment and changing light of the day and that was the reason for our plein air outing.  Even our brown bag lunch tasted special.

Our next painting venture may be Tia-Chi painting or oriental calligraphy.
